Taking good care of our bodies is our duty, but the scars and patina we made along the way is a reminder that we truly lived. Shame turns to pride and acceptance, and our partners know this and loves us forever without hesitation or shame. Proudly.

I can't speak to your bod, but you're an excellent painter.

Refreshing to read something on this topic that is real and raw. No platitudes. No fake niceness. Just how it is to you. Thanks for sharing.

Shame can be a motivator because you can acknowledge your actions resulted in something and thus it can be reversed.

I’ve ping-ponged in weight over the last year as well due to chronic illness and while I lost a lot of weight very quickly (not being able to eat much will do that) I was comfier then than I am now after putting some back on.

Beautiful illustrations.

Sometimes , body weight is also emotional weight . Trapped memories . Carrying things that don't serve us anymore . I don't know. It makes sense to me anyway. Sometimes it's just laying off the potato chips . Good luck in your health journey

We have to learn to love the curves, the lumps, the scars and lymphedema, the wrinkles. It's not easy. My body image weighs at least 100 pounds less than I do, and that's not thin. But I am closer to acceptance.

Shame has a purpose to motivate someone to change but can be negative if action isn't taken.
