Awesome! Works as a flash, but could also be extended to a full-length story.

I don't think it's evil weeds. I think it's the earth taking out the trash.

Nothing like some light hearted storytelling to get my Monday started off right. I’ll never look at my lawn again in quite the same way. Damn fine writing.

nice! I love the concept of evil deeds seeping into the ground and feeding evil growths. might have written something along those lines myself a while back...

some ballad which I google for years to no avail))

I love ballads, and some I know by heart but of others, I remember only lines. In short. I hope I'll find it again one day

It sounds like a very Russian thought.

It is in russian. It means “until the grass grows on the grave, you’ll head will ache”. I can speak and read in russian. I’m not proud of it though. After all the havoc they caused. Ah, let’s not speak about politics!

it sounds like a Russian thought maybe)) but it's an old English(I think?) ballad in Russian translation. We had many books of ballads at home, both folk and written by different poets, and I was enchanted with them since I was a little girl.

So that's the secret to good lawn care...

Quite the unsettling little yarn. Did Jonah get what was coming to him? Did Annie, when he acted? Who can really say? All we know for sure is the grass will be lush this year.
