>“Do you wish to observe a lady empty her bladder?!” Gema asked plainly. She could feel them blush even under their scarves. The soldiers released Gema from the ropes, and blanket, and they blushed even harder,
Did Avem send their greenest recruits? Soldiers are not known to be the most chaste and bashful.
>“Do not dare to touch me! Don’t! Do not!” Gema said sternly, and the look in her eyes did indeed stop the vile men; Gema was a queen from head to toes, and no one could deny it.
Cut it down to just the first "Do not dare touch me!" The repetitions feel like she lacks command.
Aaaand I’m back from my break. You are right, but Birdlings indeed are known to be very prudish. And Gema knew how to manipulate men. Also the two soldiers felt uneasy for offending Gema’s father, the late king Ulrich.
Even Pearl - a top warrior and spy, wasn’t trained to handle flirting, thus she fell for Val easily.
Thank you! Sadly, I’m taking 2 weeks off Substack, so the next chapter is going live in May. (But if you haven’t read the previous chapters, they’re free to read on my Substack.☺️).

Looking forward to what’s going to happen next.🫣

You added a lot to the story since you first wrote it. I like the additions. They deepen the immersion.
Oh, Gema! 🫣 I didn't see that coming at all.
Have a good break!
Thanks!🩶
Gema is a clever young woman! I look forward to seeing her escape in May. Enjoy your break!
Fabulous momentum! Can’t wait to read more!
