I loved it. I thought, “Oh man, don't leave us at. “A flock of black birds guarding him followed his example, turning into a hundred Birdling soldiers.”
Thank you, but… this ain’t the end yet. Oh, no no no. There’s a new (or maybe old? You’ll see) villain lurking on the horizon who will turn our happy ending on its head. The end will be the beginning of a new adventure.😏
No, a part 3 of this story. I kinda played with numbers, and named the three parts of this story: 1.One Hundred Refusals, 2.Two broken hearts (this one), 3.Three nights with the Queen.
Give me a short immersive description of the place, sense, and tone and it'll stick in the back of my mind as the dialogue takes me through the perspective reality of the characters. Like magic I am envisioning the very scene that the author conveys, with clarity. Like a shared memory of something which is true, but never happened.

Thank you.🩶 A tiny cliffhanger.🫣
A TINY cliffhanger???? A hundred Birdling soldiers charging at the Queens is a TINY cliffhanger? I would hate to see a big one! 😂
The conclusion to this story promises to be pretty good.

Now that is what we should expect from a renowned author. Keep us in suspense as we await more.
Ah! A seed of another book, perhaps?

I'm looking forward to it!

And the truth is finally revealed (almost). Awesome job!
We ain’t done yet.😉
