Love this ending, Kathrine. The bitter-sweet gives it an open end. Who knows where Dustin will be next 🙂

Thank you for a wonderful alternative epilogue! It actually doesn't feel like a different ending to me, just a continuation of the of the story. Perseus is a wonderful young character, and between him and Dustin, Erin's head must be ready to explode at times (but I'm sure she doesn't mind).

I know happy ever after doesn't really ever really happen because it would only be possible if everyone were frozen in time (and how happy can can a frozen person be?), but I see the story continuing to unfold in my mind, with Mr. Dustin T. Hill as a ghost staying on at the farm with Erin and Perseus... Perseus seems like a brave and sensible boy, and could probably deal with it okay. Maybe not a typical happily ever after, but as close as real life lets us get, sometimes...

I love this story, thank you for the new ending - you had me worried with that sneak peek featuring "Loverboy." 😂

Thank you so much! I’m happy you liked it. 🩶 In the end I couldn’t ended it with a definite HEA, I just had to do that last HFN scene, with Dustin seeing something bad in his future...🤦‍♀️ I guess this story is just that - bitter-sweet.🥹

Real life is bitter-sweet, too. If happiness was forever, it wouldn't feel so precious. HEA or HFN, it's still a beautiful story. Your last scene grounds everything, keeping it real without ruining their happiness - there's sorrow in their future, but they're together and will help each other get through whatever it is. With the age difference, a bitter-sweet end was inevitable anyway... at least they have love. 🥀
